Chick-fil-A had an offer where you would get a free CFA sandwich if you came in wearing a sports team shirt. So we were all able find a shirt to wear and we all got free lunch from CFA! Yum! It was great.

Silas goes to the hospital. Here Silas is saying good-bye to Canaan before leaving.
|
After surgery, siblings come to visit.
|
Day Two: much improvement; sitting propped up and listening to music with Maggie.
|
Day Three: Canaan comes to help Silas put together the Lego kit that Mr. Homer and Mrs. Cindy got him.
|
And later on this day, we were allowed to go home! And we were both plenty happy to go!

09-22-09 UPDATE:
This past week our boy, Silas, went for surgery on his spine. An MRI had shown that it looked like
he had a tethered spinal cord. The neurological surgeon was great and was able to loosen up
everything so that we can go on to the next step of having Silas's back straightened. The told us
he would be in the hospital for 4 to 5 days. The first day, he looked pretty puny, and had to lay flat
on his back. But his appetite was good, and he progressed right before our eyes. By day two, they
had him sitting up. That went well, no leaking, no headaches, so they said the next day they would
try to get him up walking around. When the surgeon came in on the third day, I think even he was
surprised how quickly Silas was recovering. We are very thankful for all who prayed for our boy,
because he surely bounced back well. We were able to go home on the third day, and he has
been looking better every day. Now to see the orthopedic surgeon to see what's next.
It's fall and football has started for Canaan again. He has played two games so far, and has had to
experience the unfamiliar experience of losing. Last year, their team won every game. It has not
been easy to lose the first two games, but they are working hard to improve. But I hate to see him
disappointed, not to mention all banged up and hobbling the next couple days.
These are the main things going on here this past week or two. More to come....

Open House at Tiger Kim's Tae Kwon Do
|
Hannah participated in an all day Open House at the Tae Kwon Do school she
works at. There were demonstrations of children's teams, adult teams, and of
the Masters. In between, free group lessons were given and anyone could
participate. So the little ones had a great time joining in, and then we all
watched Hannah's demonstrations.
They each got to break a board. Here it is Isaac's turn.
