Maggie and Silas sang in church two weeks ago with the kids' choir.
They did a great job.
Our little ones tried something fun last week:  eating with chopsticks!  Hannah is the only
one who regularly will eat with chopsticks, and she has several pair.  I guess one of the
kids saw her doing it and wanted to give it a try so she gave them each a pair to try.  They
thought it was pretty funny as they stabbed their meat and struggled to get any food up.
Meanwhile, the irony was not lost on me.
My dear friend from Florida, Marilyn, stopped by to visit with her husband
last week.  What a treat!  And far too short of a visit.  Marilyn is one of the
very few things I miss about Florida.
I made fleece nighties for the girls, and
slippers.  Last year I made them all
slippers, and they lasted all year, so I
am working on slippers for them all
again.  The boys have blue ones
coming, and blue fleece jammies.
My oldest and youngest (so far) girls.
Aren't they beautiful?  Jordan actually
brushed her hair so I had to take a
picture.  She is so lovely and full of life
and fun.
Then last Sunday Eden and Isaac
sang in church in the kindergarten
choir.  Isaac was non-plussed about
the whole deal, but Eden was
completely animated and engaged.
We were overwhelmed watching her.
I just couldn't help but think of the little
girl we met three years ago, the little
girl they thought was retarded and
would never do anything, maybe never
even walk.  Here she is praising God
and singing her heart out.  Looking
back at all we've been through...  isn't
that what a heart is beating for?
Thank you God for the miracle of
Eden, and the blessing of allowing us
to witness her blossom.
Football time!  Well Canaan's team is
not doing so well over all, but Canaan
is doing great!  He is playing so well.
His team has won one game, lost four,
and tied the last game.
The last game was a night game and very very COLD.  Poor
Hannah had stood outside in the cold at a Taekwondo booth at
a Fall Festival all day and was freezing cold and wind burnt.
She was already chilled to the bone before we got to the
game, and was pretty miserable.  The little ones were freezing,
and Isaac and Silas fell asleep, and the girls ran around full
speed the whole night.  Typical.
Yes, it's COLD!!!!
Here Canaan is looking on while his fellow
player and very good friend, Ginger, was
down on the field after someone ran into his
knee.  As you can see, he was very
concerned about his friend.
"I will pray in Jesus name
And believe that things will change.
I know God will hear me when I pray
So I won't worry or be afraid..."
10-23-09 UPDATE:

So the little ones all sang in church last Sunday and the Sunday before.  I will attempt to upload a
video on the October 2009 page 2.  It was really such a privilege to watch them sing.

Beyond that, not a whole lot going on.  Silas is scheduled for surgery on November 2nd, to insert
hardware to straighten his spine.  He should be in the hospital for about three days.

Canaan's football team played their sixth game and they have won one, lost three, and tied the last
game.  The playoff games start tomorrow.  His team has not been as successful this year, but his
playing has improved so much.  He's amazing.

It grew colder here pretty quickly.  It was summer and then a couple days later it was gone for good.
The kids are enjoying the weather, and playing outside a lot.  The leaves are just beginning to change.

I've been busy getting costumes ready for Halloween.  They are mostly all finished as of today.  Be
sure to check back and see all the creations and the fun.

Art is still waiting for a start date on a big contract in South Florida.  We are praying every day that it
will be soon.  We continue to thank God for meeting all of our needs throughout this time.
