A beautiful day to swing!!  Fall is here, and the weather is gorgeous.  The kids
are playing outside and soaking it all in.
Pickles relaxing and enjoying the
weather too.
Jordan was singing and playing her guitar (which is beautiful to listen to, I
just love it -- she has the voice of an angel ! ) and Eden came along.
Great amounts of cuteness ensued.
At first Eden was playing the toy guitar Art and I had made, but then Jordan traded
guitars with her and Eden thought it was just hilarious.
So cute ! !
I came in one morning to see Peapod sleeping on Silas's bed with him.  Animal cuteness.
And the Panthers finally won a game!
They are now 1 and 3, with two more
games to go.
Catching the ball.
THAT'S  MY  BOY ! ! ! !
Jordan's "new car" five and a
half years ago; she was 17
and thrilled....
And this week, poor Jordan, poor Camry....  the end of an era,,,,  which
could be worse,,,  could have been the end of an ear...
10-05-09 Update:

Fall is here and the weather is lovely.  It is such a miracle to witness the change of the seasons!  We are busily
getting our winter clothes and folding up summer ones, emptying the kid’s pool and putting it to bed for another
winter, and discussing Hallowe’en costumes.

This weekend the Panthers won their first game of the season and it was grand!  They are now 1 and 3 and
have two games left to play in the season.  It’s a big change from last year, where their team won every game,
but Canaan is really enjoying the whole experience.  I guess it makes victory even sweeter when it’s so hard to
come by.  The little ones LOVE going to his games.  They play with their friends and run around full speed the
whole time.  His game this week was a night game, and they were all sacked by the time we got home.

Hannah’s Tae Kwon Do school had an all day Open House last week and she participated the whole day.
Being 18, she is allowed to be a part of the kids’ demonstration team, and also the adult demonstration team.
She did great, and was especially happy to do some back handsprings in the demo.  Thanks to Mr. Larry at
High Point Gymnastics who has been coaching her!  (If anyone in the area is looking for a great place for your
kids to do gymnastics, this is the place to go!)  Larry has been so gracious to coach Hannah in exchange for
her helping out around the gym.

Silas is doing great and surprising everyone with how quickly he has snapped back after his surgery.
Tomorrow morning we drive down to Charlotte to see what the orthopedic surgeon plans to do next, and how
soon.

Jordan had a huge disappointment this week as her car finally died.  This was her first car and she bought it
five and a half years ago.  It has been having various problems over the last year or so, but it broke down on
the highway this past week and had to be towed.  It turned out the engine had “seized up” (?) and there would
be no use in replacing it.  So, with many tears, she sold it for scrap and is now looking for a replacement.  A
very unexpected expense for my broke daughter.  But it was no surprise to God.  We will just wait to see what is
in store for her next.
Jordan is still praying to get her position back at the bank, but she is working hard at Target, and putting in
applications other places.  She is very eager to get working.  It is frustrating waiting.  In the meantime, she is
spending lots of time with the kids, as our picture updates show this week.  Tons of cuteness everywhere!

Last night was my fourth week of leading a First Place 4 Health class at our church.  It is going well, and I am
really enjoying it.  It is such a great program.

The Christmas card poem is written, and now the work begins on the design.  We’re a little late in starting this
year, but we are underway at least.

Art was disappointed that a contract they had been working hard on for a while now did not materialize, but he
is continuing to work towards the Motorola contract.  We are praying he will be back in Florida soon, as that is
the only work in queue right now.  We continue to be amazed at how God has sustained us for so long.
Sometimes God works in big, miraculous ways: healing, solving, and changing hearts overnight; but sometimes
He simply sustains us, through weeks and months, and helps us bear what we thought would have been
unbearable – day to day, grace for each day, gradually changing us from the inside out – I think sometimes that’
s the even bigger miracle…
