painting on the back porch
Our baby cardinals are doing
great! And boy can they cheep
loudly! I can hardly believe how
quickly they have grown in just less
than a week. It's an honor to be
able to witness this. It's so
amazing.
This week Hannah tested for her double back stripe
belt, which is the last one before the black belt test.
The black belt test is a big deal, and there is a five
hour testing thing. She expects to test for that around
December.
new haircuts...
explaining to Maggie (again) why she
has to leave
at the airport...
Today Hannah also participated in a Tae Kwon Do tournament. She was part
of her school's demo team which competed, and she competed in Forms and
Sparring. I missed the Forms and the demo because we were getting Jordan
to the airport, but we got there for the Sparring. I was surprised how very
hard this was for me to watch. She is very good, and was so intense. I know
how much she wanted to win too. She lost to her opponent by one point. I felt
like crying! But she has a great attitude, and always loves to participate, win
or lose. It was quite a handful to try to watch Hannah with four little kids
squirreling about, and I am indebted (again) to Mr. Homer and Mrs. Cindy for
their help! (I think I owe you a carrot cake!!)
05-30-09 Update:
Well, my girl is on her way to Italy. As I write this she is on a plane somewhere between here and London. I expect to hear
from her sometime in the wee hours. It has been a hard day. It was hard to say good-bye. It's weird to have her gone. I don't
think I like it....
Art is in Florida until Tuesday, working hard, which is a good thing. But we will be oh so happy to see him again! We've been
trying to do a lot of things to keep busy while Daddy (and now Jordan) is gone.
And for fun this week I gave my kids a questionnaire that another friend of mine posted. I guess it was circulating on
Facebook. It's called "What My Kids Think of Me" and I asked Jordan, Hannah, Canaan, Maggie, and Silas to answer it. It was
still a little difficult for Eden or Isaac. Check out their answers on Mommy & Daddy's page.
