Father's Day was fun.  Here are all my kids but
one, who is missed so much by all.
Here is the tee shirt that we made for Daddy.
Art loves Penguins of Madagascar, and he has
given each of our little ones a penguin name
based on their personalities.  Hannah got him
a movie gift card, and Canaan bought a big
pork roast and brined it overnight, gave it a
spice rub in the morning and we had it for
Sunday lunch.  It melted in your mouth!  It was
awesome.
Making murals to decorate
for Vacation Bible School.
Here I am creating a sheep
for decorating our room for
Vacation Bible School.  I
made it from two of the
pillows from Jordan's bed
because she's not here
and won't know the
difference.  (Hi Jordan! I'll
put them back before you
get home.)
Here is Art playing the part of Peter.  I
think he looks hot.  The kids loved it.
Art is so great with kids.
Peapod gnawing
on a dog biscuit.
Weird.
The dill pickles I
canned.  I love the
dill and the garlic
showing through.
Hannah and Canaan wrestling
in the kitchen, which they do
almost every day.
Silas looking at the postcard he got
from Jordan.  So sweet.
He's also wearing a chain of clover
that Maggie made for him.
Playing dress up.  Then Maggie organized a
"show" with the little kids.  Eden began by
"reading" from a book....
Then Maggie came in as a cat....
I didn't really follow the plot, but for some reason
the firemen came running in, and the cat ended
up collapsed in laughter.  It was a great show!
Beautiful kids just hanging out on a summer's day.  This stuff is
what keeps me going...
Vacation Bible School was a lot of fun for all of us, but a lot of it was admittedly pretty
lame, especially the snacks which had nothing to do with the theme and were boring.
So the last day, Friday, I made my own snack in Baker style and brought it.  These
are koala bear cupcakes, and the kids loved them.  Next year I'll be prepared!
Meeting Isabella!  We went to Granny's house to
meet Isabella.  Isabella is the new daughter of
Summer and Alex.  Summer is Art's niece, his older
sister's daughter.  Isabella is three months old and
we had lots of fun with her.  She is beautiful, just
like a little Anne Geddes baby.  I got to hold her
and feed her a bottle and even got her to sleep!  I
haven't lost my touch!
Cat pictures for Jordan.  Poor Peapod is missing
Jordan we think.  She is just kind of sulky, and not
her usual playful self.  Canaan gives her lots of
attention, and here she is playing with Silas a little
bit.  She's still as cute as ever.
My teenagers comparing muscles. Who
wins?  Well, Canaan can't do the splits....
Hannah found a box turtle in our yard.
Isaac and Eden are checking it out
cautiously.  So sweet....
Canaan likes
watermelon.
Eden's hair.  Well if any of my seven
children was going to cut their own hair, it
would be Eden.  We caught her after
cutting a nice slice, about four inches
long, from her temple.  By the time I made
the other side match, she was sporting a
nice mullet.  For several days I mulled
over what to do about it.  Her hair does
not grow very quickly, and I was really
trying to grow it out.  Here she is playing
with a wig from dress up.  She is such a
ham.  Eventually I did trim it up into a cute
little short cut, and we are starting the
growing out process all over again.
