I came upon the kids
acting out Joshua and
the Battle of Jericho.
They had made hats
and trumpets out of
paper, constructed a
Jericho in the middle of
the living room, and
Isaac and Eden were
carrying the "Ark of the
Covenant".  They
marched seven times
around, blew their
trumpets, and made the
walls fall down!
And they instigated it all
on their own.
Not sure how well this
soldier can see.
Joy loves to talk on the
phone.  She walks all
around the house
jabbering non-stop.  It's
pretty funny to watch.
A happy moment.
A typical Isaac moment.
Don't ask.  Pretty sure it
has something to do with
Star Wars, and that's
about it.
Here is a new bleach
shirt I made for my Dad
for Fathers' Day.  It is
based on the Carter
Family album cover
below.  My Dad has
always been a big
Carter Family fan.  This
is an album I remember
him playing when I was a
child.
I would make a couple
changes to do it again,
but otherwise, I think it
turned out pretty nice.
A typical homeschooling
day.  Hannah and
Canaan are going over
math work with Eden
and Silas...
Canaan got out a big bin
of his Legos and taught
the littles how to make
cars!  They had a blast
and played for hours.
There is also Lego all
over my house now.
And a typical Hannah
activity, having Eden do
reverse sit ups.  Eden's
laughing throughout it
all, but she did several.
Hannah and Canaan
keep the kids active
pretty much everyday
with different games,
sports, exercises,
dances, and activities.
Another example.  Since
soccer season is over,
Canaan taught the littles
how to play kick ball.
(The P90-X is working!)
I love love love this
picture!  Can't you just
feel the laughter?  After
kick ball one day
Canaan set up the hose
on mist hanging from the
porch umbrella.  Then
he was teaching the kids
dance moves.  They
were laughing so hard.
Awwww....
Kee-Kee and Ca-Ca.
And Kee-Kee loves to
swim!
This is why I don't get
much work done.  Pizza
loves to come and walk
on the computer as
soon as I sit down to do
anything on it.  She
pretends it's
unintentional, but I don't
believe it.
Raspberries from my
garden.  I had enough to
make a tart for Canaan
and me!
And here is an example
of the kind of thing
Hannah makes for me
for lunch.  It's a salad of
field greens with
mandarins, blueberries,
raspberries,
strawberries, red onions,
and a raspberry
vinagrette she created
made from raspberry
jam and balsamic
vinegar.  YUM.
Raspberries from my
garden.  I had enough to
make a tart for Canaan
and me!
We are studying
Germany now.  Here
Maggie and Silas are
making homemade soft
pretzels.
They were a little fat, but
they were yummy!
Making German fruit
kuchen with fresh
peaches, plums and
apricots.
Slicing potatoes for
German potato salad.
I always find things like
this so funny.
So the meal was
currywurst with German
potato salad, red
cabbage, and fruit
kuchen.  The kids all
loved the currywurst the
best.  I loved the red
cabbage the best!  Red
cabbage boiled with
apples, onions, cloves,
allspice, and cider
vinegar...  mmmmm....
Hannah teaching all the
kids how to shuffle.
They didn't all exactly
get it, but they all had
fun.  Silas is a dancing
machine!
And flowers from my
dear niece in Thailand,
Jessica.  She sent them
to arrive on the morning
of the 23rd, Jordan's
birthday.  She knew
what a difficult day it was
going to be for me (and
it was).  I was so
touched, I think the
delivery lady must have
thought someone died.
It would have been
easier for me if she had.
 The flowers are
beautiful Jessica, thank
you.
