Hannah showing the kids a new break dancing video.
I find humor in this.  My little Ghanian
girl eating Chinese dumplings!
Joy LOVES the shower!!
"I whip my hair back and forth;
I whip my hair back and forth;
I whip my hair back and forth;
I whip my hair back and forth!"
What an wonderful big brother.  He just loves his little sibs.
Here is Silas's back after his last
surgery.  You can see how he is
improving.  He is the bravest little
guy I know.
I LOVE this photo!  I
happened along and
saw Maggie and Eden
dressed up in their
princess costumes, but
weilding nerf guns and
light sabers.  I don't care
who you are; that's
funny!
Eden's hair looks like this
every morning, or worse!
She still rocks back and
forth in her bed at night.  A
behavior she learned in her
early years from not being
held or touched, and still
continues the habit.
My cute, sweet little
squishy, juicy girl. I love
her so much!!
Making Valentines!!  What fun!
Look at those
eyelashes!!
Our new family picture.  My Valentines!!
Wish I knew what she was
thinking.
My awesome, beautiful girls!
I loved how they had
the whole bench to sit
on, and yet sat as
close beside each
other as possible.
Maggie climbing the willow tree.
Oh my gosh, what a
beautiful child.  She
takes my breath away.
I  LOVE this picture.  I need to get it framed.
My handsome man.  I
would do anything for
this boy.  He melts my
heart.
Daddy got a dozen orange (her
favorite color) roses for
Hannah.  She deserves them.
HOMESCHOOL!  Yay!!   We are doing
a "Tour of Europe".  I love unit studies.
We began in France. As part of our
studies, we made crepes and
chocolate mousse.  Yum!
We made two kinds of
crepes, savory and sweet.
We made ham broccoli
crepes with a swiss cheese
sauce, and strawberry
crepes with a cheese filling.
Ask me why I don't make stuff
like this regularly.  Hmmm....
Sweet Joy is introduced to a
Happy Meal.  I think she
likes the acquaintance!!
Enjoy, baby girl!  We don't
meet often, but when
Daddy gets paid,
sometimes we can!
All my kids have loved
playing in the dirt.  And I
have always loved
watching them.
Yay!  Tax time!   Ugh!  I hate
doing taxes, but on the other
hand, it will pay the bills for
another few months so it's worth
it.  So glad it's done, and thank
God for it.
A homeschool science lesson.
Hannah teaching first grade
science to Eden and Isaac.  She
is so awesome.  They adore her.
(they aren't the only ones.)
Next on our tour of
France is a study of
the Impressionist
artists, like Monet.
Here Maggie and Si
are trying their hand
at making some
Impressionist
artwork.
Big brothers loving on their baby sister and helping her put
on her shoes to go out and play.  Gosh I love these kids!!
The bestest big brother ever ever ever
ever ever, Canaan loves helping Joy
get ready for bed.  He helps her with
her hair lotion, and sits and picks her
hair out for her.  She just loves him.
Hannah helping
Maggie with her
handstand.
It's Movie Night!  Friday night is Movie Night around here.  Popcorn and a
movie for the kids.  Joy stays up for the popcorn, but not the whole
movie.  She's just one of gang now.  Three happy girls!
02-17-2011 UPDATE:

It has been a very busy few weeks.  One of the highlights was Hannah's birthday!  Since neither she
nor I want to believe that she has gone from the little girl above to the beautiful young woman she is so
QUICKLY, we put 14 candles on her cake and tried to hang on a little longer.  It is not possible that I
only have one teenager left in the house now.  I have never met anyone who more thoroughly enjoyed
their childhood than Hannah.  She drank up every minute of every day.  I can't wait to see what she
does next!

Silas got through another surgery with flying colors.  His rods in his back were lengthened a little bit,
and he will be back for his next surgery in six months.  He was a real trooper, even though he always
has a rough time the first few hours after surgery.  He is the bravest little boy I know.

Valentine's Day has come and gone for another year.  The girls had a wonderful time making
Valentines and all four littles made heart cookies.  We had our traditional Valentine morning of
breakfast together.  Canaan made outrageously good French toast with strawberries and real
whipped cream.  We all sat down to a great breakfast with little gifts for each one and lots of love and
laughter all around.

And little Miss Joy is progressing very well.  She is learning lots of new words and getting very
comfortable around here.  She is sleeping better, and learning new things every day.  She is
continuing to transition and adapt and your prayers are appreciated as she figures all of this out over
the coming weeks.

The weather lately has been downright spring-like!  We are all wondering if Spring is here to stay or if
we are due one more cold snap before the end of winter.  The kids are thoroughly enjoying playing
outside.  As Maggie said earlier this week, "God is just spoiling us with this wonderful world!"
