Where are you off to Hannah? It's APPLE PICKING time!!!
Widsar was very excited.
Then she saw the sign that said we were very close to the Virginia border and asked if we could go. Well, why not? Just a little detour...
Here we are! Art was not with us this time because he was working in Florida that week. But the rest of us had a great time.
We always go to Haigt Orchards which is near Reidsville. They are very family friendly, have great fruit, and have dwarf apple tree (in many varieties) so that the kids can pick them easily.
We have picked Gala and Fuji in past years, but this time the available apple was Jonagold, a nice tart apple, kind of like a Granny Smith but not as crisp.
Two bushels of apples waiting to be preserved. Now the fun begins.
And half a bushel of beautiful, perfect, free stone peaches.
A random pic for Jessica showing Eden playing outside with her owl bag.
And it did my heart good to hear Hannah and Canaan and Widsar sitting around in the evenings chatting, and reminiscing some about how they all grew up together (Widsar lived next door). Here they were all doodling owls while they talked. So funny....
Another bleach shirt. We made a shirt for Widsar while she was here. For some reason, she likes to call herself Windsor. She thinks it is easier for people to pronounce. From someone who also has a hard to pronounce, unusual name, I say it's about the same, but we made her a Windsor shirt anyway. She liked it. (Except when she put it on, I realized you couldn't read the "like the castle" on her.)
More fun with hair. It is truly an art form, and Widsar is an artist. There is no way I could do some of this stuff, but I did get some good tips. However, I will likely leave Joy's hair alone as long as I possibly can until I try my hand at it.
Saying good-bye to Silas as we head to Charlotte for another extension surgery on his spine.
He sat nervously waiting and playing his DS with Daddy....
...and then the Versed kicks in and all is right with the world.
He was home that evening and playing a groggy game of Monopoly with everyone. He had some problems with nausea and vomiting from the anaesthesia, but once it was out of his system, he was doing much better.
Canaan saying good-bye to Widsar as he would be working when we all took her to the airport.
Everyone was sad....
One day Hannah and Canaan and Widsar went to the mall and did a bunch of shopping, and they brought home an outfit that they all bought for me and Widsar picked out. I love it!! And it came from a real MALL store!
