I came in Eden and Isaac's room and saw them all engrossed in their Leapster games. Very cute.

I didn't get a great picture
of this, but this is Maggie
with her Ni-Hao Kai Lan
hairdo I did for her.
What to do on a rainy day? Have a picnic! Hot Silk chocolate and club crackers with Nutella. So fun!

Our first business for the Tooth Fairy since Canaan's last lost tooth some eight years ago
now? We were fully prepared for it to be for Maggie or even Silas, but I went to brush
Isaac's teeth and saw a crooked tooth and pushed on it and out it came! He had no idea
what was going on and wanted it back. But when he got a prize under his pillow, he got the
idea, and is now wiggling the other tooth every day. And so our Maggie and Silas!
My pretty girl with beads on that
Jordan brought her from Italy, and a
feather in her hair that she found on a
walk down to the lake.
Canaan with his
baby girl.
The haircut he insisted
upon. Apparently it's some
sort of a football haircut. I
told him I get to do it my
way once football is over.
A very typical morning in our house. Happy kids, who are happy about each other. One of the best things I ever gave these kids is each other. It thrills my heart. Praying for more!

08-26-09 UPDATE
Not a whole lot going on, but a few new pictures to post.
Jordan just got a job at Target, an early morning shift, and is applying to get her position back at the
bank as well. They just lost a teller, and we are praying that they will be allowed to replace her, as
Jordan would have a very good chance of getting the job. She is very ready to get back to work.
Art is facing some promising work prospects and we are again waiting for contracts to be signed and
things to pan out. Canaan has started football again and is middle linebacker, and defensive team
captain. Hannah just had her first maintenance test, and has one more maintenance test before she
goes for her black belt testing. They have also increased her hours, for which she is thankful. And the
little ones and I are all trying to get back into the swing of school. We are pretty much relaxed
homeschoolers, and we enjoy the lifestyle. I thank God every day that I have the chance and privilege
to raise little ones again. I feel this time around that I enjoy it all so much more and appreciate every
moment. I feel like I've been given a second chance, and I feel so blessed. I could watch them all day.
They are entertaining, amazing, and hilarious.
Silas went to the orthopedic surgeon last week and his scoliosis has gotten worse. His curve is now at
about eighty degrees. When he came home it was about sixty, if I remember right. Anyway, the
orthopedic surgeon wants the neurosurgeon to again address the possibility of him having a tethered
cord, and we go to the neurosurgeon next week. It is likely that Silas will have surgery for that first, and
should have surgery yet this year to put in a titanium rib (VEPTR), which will have to be adjusted every
six months. Meanwhile, we are trying all the more to fatten him up a little in preparation for all of this.
Hannah's first maintenance test for
double black stripe. One more test
until black belt test.
I like this one; it looks like she's
punching him.

Ever since Jordan was little, Daddy
takes turns letting the kids "drive".
Here it's Isaac's turn. See his tongue?
So what is Eden's mystery pillow? Let's see.......
Yes, she found a comfy spot. She just loves Hannah.
Maggie learning to ride
without training wheels.
Our neighbor, Mr. Chip, invited the kids over to make
s'mores and play in his back yard. He's so sweet to them.
I managed to get two watermelons growing, out of several
attempts, and I was nursing them along. Then one day the vine
just died, and I have no idea why. So, sadly we picked the baby
watermelons. They were still good though. We'll try again next
year.

latest drawings, a boy

All this website updating is a lot of work!

She broke a board with her
